About OEIST

Law 62/2007 of 10 September, which establishes the legal framework of higher education institutions, in particular its article 162, No. 2, provides that all HEIs must supply accurate and sufficient information on employability of taught study cycles.

As a result, we acknowledge the scale and importance of employability in higher education. With regard to IST, labour market placement  is one of the critical factors privileged by students when considering admission options in Higher Education.

In this regard, and as a result of the work carried  out by IST so far on graduate professional career path, this graduate employment observation and dissemination structure becomes official.

The purpose of OEIST is to promote graduate employability through systematisation and analysis of all available information that directly or indirectly is associated with graduate career path. This will materialize in annual data updates in order to help elaborate recurrent and more reliable information.

The IST Graduate Employability Observatory is part of the International Studies and Planning Office (AEP).
